I think we can all agree on this universal truth: standing too close to the stage at a rock show can be harmful to your health. Our ears are made to stand only so much. High sound pressure levels = bad hearing.
Back in 2003, a couple from the Boston area attended a Whitesnake show (their first mistake). When they arrived, they discovered that the seats they purchased gave them an obstructed view of the stage. Lodging a complaint, they were moved closer to the front, placing them in front of the speaker stacks. Shortly thereafter, they allege significant hearing loss.
After dragging the matters through the courts, Maryellen and Kevin Burns have been awarded $40,000 in damages for their troubles. Read more here.
