As someone who spends a lot of time thinking and writing about music history, I often get frustrated when tracking down the current whereabouts of artists from the past.  But this detective work can be worth it because a person’s post-rock life can sometimes be just as fascinating as their music career.

For example, as Damon Albarn’s partner, Justin Frischmann was the First Lady of Britpop.  Would you believe she’s happily married to a professor of atmospheric science and living in the San Francisco area?  Or that Rat Scabies of the Damned is now a self-proclaimed expert in the search for the Holy Grail? Or that Dave Dederer of the Presidents of the United States of America is writing apps for the iPhone?
