When you do a show and run a website on music discovery and cool new bands, you get mail. Lots and lots and LOTS of mail. Each week, there’s a ton of email, parcels, packages, envelopes and boxes from band who want to be on the radio, get interviewed or at the very least, get written up on the website.
How much stuff? A standard week will see well over a hundred hopefuls offer up what they’ve worked so hard to create.
Unfortunately, there’s nowhere near enough space on the radio show, even with five shows a week. The website, however, is a little more forgiving—especially since we can enlist the hundreds of thousands of people who visit ExploreMusic.com each week to help sort through all the new music we receive.
One of my resolutions for 2010 is to regularly post links to some of the music that’s sent to me. Feel free to post any comments below and, where possible, send notes directly to the band.
Think of it as being an associate music director.

Hi Alan,
Why don’t you post all links you received during the week in this site; each link should have its major influences or like bands. Leave the links and whoever wants to check the link, well, would go to the link and post a review or note.
I know MySpace is kind of the same thing… although, you’re kind of a filter, few bands would post you trying to get some response.
My 2 cents.
Great site/program/content/ideas/etc.

Dead Messenger reminds me a bit of Weezer and Foo Fighters.

‘Dead Messenger’ certainly sounds like a band I would hear as part of regular rotation on The Edge. Nothing ‘out there’ yet doing a great job at straight rock.
