Yesterday, I gave you a half-dozen examples of the kind of music that passes through my offices on a typical day. Here’s another six acts I’d like you to hear as Associate Music Directors of ExploreMusic.com. As always, feel free to leave comments below. And if you’re so moved, I’m sure the bands themselves would appreciate an email.

Ninjaspy – metal/dancehall – quite a bit like Skindred, with ill Scarlett breakdowns. Not bad at all!
-
Love Marcone! And Amos The Transparent is rockin too!
-
Thanks for the post. I love new music. Amos the Transparent is AMAZING. I don’t get how there’s bands like them not signed. There music is everything I look for in a band.
Thanks again
Steve

Only macrone stands out to me. But only because the beginning of “madlove” sounds VERY similar to kryptonite by 3 doors down haha
-
Marcone- VERY refreshing sound! Loved Cant fall in love on mushrooms
-
Marcone – Great new music – interesting concept
-
Amos The Transparent is one of the most dynamic and powerful bands Canada has to offer right now. The journey their debut album, “Everything I’ve Forgotten to Forget” takes you on is one I haven’t experienced with any album ever, before it. Blows my mind how one band can seamlessly pull off so many styles on one record, all the while sounding entirely cohesive.
Good call, Alan!

Amos the Transparent has a cool blend of driven rock groove with mellow lyrics. I really enjoyed all the songs on their myspace.
Marcone also had a great sound! It just shows how much potential is out there, and almost makes me sad that all we see on muchmusic is s****y reality shows and lady gaga. thank goodness for aux tv!
speaking of music that comes across your desktop…. I recently discovered the Daptone Records label out of New York, who recently release a compilation disc entitled ‘Daptone Gold’. Definitely worth checking out; they are producing a sound that has been absent from popular music for much too long. The Dap Kings backed up The Heavy (an INCREDIBLE band from the UK) on Letterman on Monday, and totally blew the roof off the building.

Marcone is great!
He also happens to be incredibly attractive.
I dig the blog man, keep up the momentum -
My favorite song is by MARCONE – Can’t fall in love on mushrooms.
Love it!! -
There is something really cool about the sound of Marcone. I am really feeling that sound. They could be really big.
-
‘Amos The Transparent’ has a solid and very accessible sounding indie vibe to it. Kinda light and a bit quirky.
Ninjaspy would be something I’d play at night or in special shows on weekend. I like their sound it would appeal to a niche market. -
Lovin’ Marcone – a blend of all things good about Canadian music. The drummer is amazing too!
-
Marcone is amazing! Perfect new sound to listen too right now. Love MadLove!
-
Lovin Marcone… I’m liking Cant fall in love on mushrooms…and 13 Butterflies. Can’t wait to see what comes up next…
-
Ninjaspy is awesome.theyre a perfect mashup of different styles.Chris Velan is sweet and chill.kind of jack jonhsonyy.
-
Its a breath of fresh air to hear the sounds of Marcone. With the redundancy of music lately, it is great to finally hear something with a different sound. I see nothing but good things on the horizon for this band.
-
The Randalls standout to me. Loved their sound and use of melody and harmony as well as dirty guitars. Hot tones!
-
Love The Randalls! They have a one of kind sound that had me hooked from the moment I listened to them!! Favourite songs, Rainy Day Music and Quicksand. What’s not to love?
-
The Randalls have perfected their own unique sound> worthy of attention> worthy of air time. Anyone who has had the privilege to view these musicians in a live show will surely agree with me. There is just something so right about these four guys when they get on strumming.
