A Primitive Evolution: “Beyond True”

2 years ago by Adam Morrison |

This is the Indie Track of the Day Giveaway. It’s just like it sounds—every day we spotlight a song from an indie band/artist and we let you keep the track to do with whatever you like (within the limits of the law).

The song is part of our podcast, so if you want it (you do), search on iTunes for the ExploreMusic.com podcast, or just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the links.

A Primitive Evolution is a dark alternative rock four-piece with roots in Toronto’s cult-rock scene—the band consists of two former members of Lye, the owner of Playdead Cult, and the owner of Darkside store.

The band’s self-produced video for "Death on Wheels" caught the attention of the producers of the vampire musical movie "Suck," and A Primitive Evolution’s jam space and home were showcased in the film in a scene featuring Iggy Pop.

In 2009, the band founded a new music festival called Viva Los Muertos.

A Primitive Evolution’s self-titled debut album was produced by Matthew Von Wagner (USS, Alpha Galates, Crystal Castles). It was released in Canada in December 2009 and it received worldwide digital distribution this past February.

I Love “Beyond True”. It’s an Amazing Timeless song that fits for any occasion or mood!
It’s definitely addictive as every time I play it anyone that hears it requests/demands to know what I have on & where they can get it.
