Columbia: “10 out of 10″

This is the Indie Track of the Day Giveaway. It’s just like it sounds—every day we spotlight a song from an indie band/artist and we let you keep the track to do with whatever you like (within the limits of the law).

Vancouver-based "Universal new rock" five-piece Columbia formed three years ago—vocalist Kevin Schallie and lead guitarist Richard Jacquard having previously played together in the band Straitpipe.

The band’s debut album, Join Our Ride, was released in May 2009.

Columbia will be touring Canada in August, and more shows are already planned for the fall.

    Truly ROCKS! Saw these blokes live at THE BOURBON in Vancouver. Was completely enamored with the whole package [mind out of the gutters please... :) ]. Funniest was the TOUR DOCUMENTARIES as well when they traveled out East; reminiscent of some old skOol [sic] Beatles mayhem [a la 1964's 'A Hard Day's Night'] and tomfoolery. LOVE IT! Top drawer boys, top drawer! :P

    Discovered these guys last year on Supernova.com and have been loving them ever since!

    Great to see such a friendly bunch of talented guys (Kevin!) making their way up in the biz… super online fandom, Thorny Bleeder signing, and now featured (again) on ExploreMusic :)
