Indie Track

Crash Karma: “Awake”

9 months ago by Adam Morrison |

This is the Indie Track of the Day Giveaway. It’s just like it sounds—every day we spotlight a song from an indie band/artist and we let you keep the track to do with whatever you like (within the limits of the law).

The song is part of our podcast, so if you want it (you do), search on iTunes for the ExploreMusic.com podcast, or just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the links.

Bassist Amir Epstein (Zygote), vocalist Edwin (ex-I Mother Earth), guitarist Mike Turner (ex-Our Lady Peace), and drummer Jeff Burrows (ex-The Tea Party) make up one of the most promising new Canadian bands (dare I say, supergroups?) out there.

It all started when Amir met Edwin through a mutual friend and brought up the idea of starting a group. Long story short, the group clicked, they recorded some songs at Mike Turner’s own The Pocket Studio, and they hit it big with the single "Awake."

We’ll finally get to hear Crash Karma’s self-titled debut album in March.

Listen to "Awake" and check out Crash Karma’s MySpace page.
