This is the Indie Track of the Day Giveaway. It’s just like it sounds—every day we spotlight a song from an indie band/artist and we let you keep the track to do with whatever you like (within the limits of the law).
The song is part of our podcast, so if you want it (you do), search on iTunes for the ExploreMusic.com podcast, or just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the links.
Montreal-based trio Land of Talk formed in 2006, although there has been some line-up shifting since then, with vocalist/guitarist Elizabeth Powell being the only remaining founding member.
While recuperating from a hemorrhage vocal polyp in 2009, Powell wrote and recorded Land of Talk’s second full length album, Cloak and Cipher. The effort features contributions from Patrick Watson, and members of Stars, Arcade Fire, Thee
Silver Mt. Zion, Wintersleep, Besnard Lakes, and Esmerine.
