This is the Indie Track of the Day Giveaway. It’s just like it sounds—every day we spotlight a song from an indie band/artist and we let you keep the track to do with whatever you like (within the limits of the law).
The song is part of our podcast, so if you want it (you do), search on iTunes for the ExploreMusic.com podcast, or just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the links.
The Chucky Danger Band formed in Belfast, Prince Edward Island in 2004. They eventually relocated to Charlottetown, and they changed their name to Paper Lions in February 2008.
The band—brothers John (vocals/guitar) and Rob MacPhee (bass), guitarist Colin Buchanan, and drummer David Cyrus—released their debut full length, Colour, in 2006, the same year that their 6-pack EP was named Pop Recording of the Year at the East Coast Music Awards.
2007 saw the band receiving three ECMA nominations and the award for Touring Artist of the Year from the Canadian Arts Presenters Organization, and releasing a self-titled album.
Paper Lions recorded their latest EP, Trophies, with producer Dan Weston (Attack in Black, Classified) in summer 2009. The effort will hit stores this year.
