This is the Indie Track of the Day Giveaway. It’s just like it sounds—every day we spotlight a song from an indie band/artist and we let you keep the track to do with whatever you like (within the limits of the law).
The song is part of our podcast, so if you want it (you do), search on iTunes for the ExploreMusic.com podcast, or just scroll down to the bottom of this page and click the links.
Scott Lanaway is a Toronto-based vocalist and multi-instrumentalist whose music incorporates both electronic and acoustic elements.
After spending time in college rock bands during the 1990s, Lanaway was sidelined by illness in 2000 and he eventually had a recording studio set up in his home.
Mergers and Acquisitions, the follow-up to Lanaway’s debut, 2006’s Answering Machine Diaries, is out now. Reviewers have positively compared Lanaway to artists including Neil Young, Rufus Wainwright, Radiohead, and Sting, and have also praised Lanaway for the variety (in addition to the quality) of the music included on the album.
Listen to "Oprah, God Wants You To Have a Private Jet," and click here to check out Scott Lanaway’s official site.
