If you follow @CourtneyLoveUK like I do, you’ll have seen the stream of links and Twitpics she’s distributed to a cadre of followers who are helping her organize, assemble and codify two giant boxes of documents that Courtney says is central to her case.

For more than a month now, followers have been flocking to SaveCourtneyandFrancesBean, a website that’s acting as a central repository to this information. “I’m getting help from a legal analyst from NBC. She’s been a great help.”

I ask her about selling more of her stake in the Nirvana publishing catalogue, something that could be worth more than $162 million. She lights a cigarette, stands up and walks around me to a spot where she stares in the mirror.

“I don’t want to,” she says in a near whisper. “I don’t want to do that. I’d never do that to Frances.”

Speaking of Frances, what’s the status with her these days?

“She’s living with this 25 year-old guy. We’re working things out. She wants to go to Bard [a college in the Catskills in New York state] to study art.”

Courtney has grown quiet and thoughtful, drifting off through her reflection in the mirror. Maybe it’s time to change the subject. I ask her about one of her favourite things: fashion!

She laughs. “That’s my one indulgence. TAYLOR!”

Courtney’s manager comes running in. “What’s the name of that website we’re gonna do?”

Taylor, who may have her current job as the result of some bad karma in a past life, looks relieved that it’s nothing serious. “It’s WhatdidCourtneyweartoday.com.”

Courtney turns to me. “There have been so many stories about my clothing that I want to put it all straight. I have such good taste that people pay attention.”

She jumps up and runs over to the clothes rack on the far wall and starts rifling through whatever is on the hangers. “Celine, Chloe, Celine, Dolce, Prada, Celine. It’s a weakness.”
