There are many stories to be told about Iggy Pop and the Stooges. Like when they tried to drive their 14-foot tall truck under a 12-foot bridge. Like when Iggy went to war with a particularly evil Detroit biker gang. Like the time when Elton John, dressed in a gorilla suit, freaked out Iggy in the middle of the show (Iggy was on PCP at the time).
Screams for a movie, don’t it? Director Jim Jarmusch thinks so.
Apparently, it’s all Iggy’s idea. He approached Jarmusch a while back with the idea of creating a definitive documentary with a look and feel unlike your typical rock docs.
At this point, the project is still classified as being “in development,” but bets are this will happen. Meanwhile, enjoy some classic Stooges video.

Have heard this for some time. In fact, the movie buzz has long named Elijah Wood as playing Iggy….hadn’t seen it really, until watching this clip.
