Apparently, Hulk Hogan knows (or at least knew) his way around a bass guitar. In fact, once he had made it as a wrestler he attempted to join a couple of well-known bands.
"I was in England presenting an award with Jerry Hall, Mick Jagger’s ex, and she told me the (Rolling) Stones were looking for a bass player," Hogan tells the Chicago Tribune. "I sent her a ton of merchandise that she asked for and said, ‘Tell Mick I’m a great bass player.’ I never heard a word back."
Also, when Metallica needed someone to take the place of late bassist Cliff Burton, they apparently did not know how to answer the age-old question "What’cha gonna do brother when Hulkamania runs wild on you?"
Hogan says, "When Metallica was looking for a bass player, I called and never heard a word back from them either. I would have quit wrestling in a heartbeat to be a bass player for Metallica."
If Hogan had been given a shot, would …And Justice for All sound that different?
