I agree, I believe how we do anything is how we do everything... so they probably do help whenever they can. And yes, using their celebrity can be a valuable tool... are their actions calling attention or are they... the end result is still good either though. Ultimately, it's the suspicious/selfish part of me which raises the questions and the empathetic part which keeps my selfishness in check.

In their Rock video 'Long Way To the Top' it was filmed in Melbourne on Swanston street 'before it was closed off to allow pedestrian traffic only). One of the accounts from one of the bagpipe players was it was like pulling teeth to get the band out of the bar to shoot the video, and they were completely ripped through the filming. Bon Scott really wanted to learn to play the bag pipes and asked one of them if he could be shown how ... to which the reply was along the lines of 'how long have you got mate? Not sure if he was actually playing them in the video or not. I'd love to find that interview again.

he's got a point there, when someone does help out and it's trully not for anything in return... broadcasting it takes away (ever so slightly) from the altruism. But history is repleat with good people trying to help others and getting at least kick in the @55 in return.....

The message of the world needing to take an active role in helping others is the same message that by helping others they're actually helping themselves too. I guess we are still in our infancy as a species that can't see past our own immediate needs. Not that I'm a saint, maybe the world needs to hit a bottom to wake itself up again...

oooffff, wow, good morning Jeff. I'ma gonna go get a coffee now... hopefully lighten up a bit. ;)
