Eddie Vedder is the guy who is always writing songs. He once told me that you can never ignore any kind of inspiration because once it’s gone, it’s gone.
I would have liked to have asked him about what could be the rarest Eddie Vedder record ever. In 2000, he was going through a rough time following the fan deaths at the Roskilde Festival in Denmark along with a bunch of personal issues. During that time, he wrote an entire album’s worth of songs on the ukelele and recorded them.
These songs were apparently all really sad, but they were cathartic for Eddie. So whatever happened to these recordings? He gave them to a few friends–and that was it. But he doesn’t rule out that he may release them–one day. Another weird Eddie thing next time.

How often do you get to interview the big guy? Thanks for posting the interviews!
