Hendrix on the road and on the radio

2 years ago by Jeff Woods |

They’re rocking the music of Hendrix in Reno Nevada tonight, and on through the U.S. for more dates, unfortunately, no stops in Canada this time.

Not that Hendrix isn’t alive and well everywhere you look, and listen.

I’m thrilled to be bringing you Legends Episode #302 this weekend (most affiliates air the show Saturday and/or Sunday, check your local Classic Rock listings) – it’s ‘Jimi Hendrix The Valleys of Neptune, and Beyond’.   The ‘beyond’ is  interviews with Jimi’s producer Eddie Kramer and Jimi’s little sister Janie Hendrix, speaking among other things, what they believe Jimi would have gone on to accomplish.

8 songs from the new album and lots of insight from Eddie, Janie, and Band of Gypsys bassist Billy Cox, who will talk in detail about meeting Jimi for the first time, the direction in which his music would go, and best of all, Janie will recall what kind of guy Jimi was, around the house.

Meanwhile, on the tour I mentioned, there’s a ton of legends inspired by Jimi, congregating as we speak for another concert celebrating his artistry.  With more on that, from guitarist Vernon Reid from Living Color, click HERE.

Have the best weekend,

Jeff.

p.s. Legends of Classic Rock – coming soon to The U.S.!  If you’re living south of the 49th, please get in touch with your Classic Rock radio station Programming Department, via their website, and ask them to bring ‘The Legends of Classic Rock’ to the airwaves!
