Here’s The Deal: Courtney Love and The New Hole Album

Here’s the Deal with Courtney’s Phone Call

Yesterday, for the first time in six years, there was new music from Courtney Love and Hole in the form of a song called “Skinny Little Bitch.”  Out of nowhere, I get a phone call at my office at home.  The voice on other end said “Would you like to talk to Courtney?”  Um, okay—so we set up a quick Skype connection.  Turns out she visits ExploreMusic.com.

Our conversation was not, er, linear.  It was all very stream-of-consciousness and three dimensional with tangents that rode off in all directions at once.  Eventually, we came around to this story about how she worked out the lyrics to one of the songs on the new album.  I’m not sure which one because I was kind of lost at this point.

There is plenty, plenty more to this conversation—but it’s going to take me a long time to sort through it all.

ExploreMusic Playlist: The songs featured on the radio show today were:

“You Let Me Down” by Joel Plaskett
“Skinny Little Bitch” by Hole
“Bodyshot” by Electric Six
“Good Times” by Marcy Playground

This is pretty lame. Who cares about Hole anymore? It’s so 1999, it’s been over for a VERY VERY VERY VERY long time now. Perhaps time to focus on real talent.
