Here’s The Deal: Listening to Music While Working, Finger 11, Slipknot

Here’s what I discovered today.

Here’s the Deal with Music At Work

I don’t know about you, but I like to listen to music when I work. I suspect most people do—and there have been many scientific studies that suggest listening to music while working increases productivity. But now there’s this new report out of Wales that says music is merely “an irrelevant sound” that doesn’t do anything at all for productivity. In fact, it could even be a distraction.

I think they’re wrong, but I’m not a scientist. You can read more of what they say here.

Here’s the Deal with New Finger 11

Finger 11 is still working on their new album in New York—but they finally have a title. They will call it Life Turns Electric and it’ll be in stores October 5. Meanwhile, the first single, “Living in a Dream,” is already a top 5 song on the iTunes rock chart. That’s nice.

Here’s the Deal with Slipknot

And finally, something for Slipknot fans who are concerned about what might happen to the band in the wake of the death of bassist Paul Gray. You may have heard or read about how Slipknot isn’t sure about their future.

Well, hold on. Mike Sullivan was at the Heavy MTL festival last weekend where he talked to Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison. He’s currently playing with Rob Zombie and has a band on the side called Murderdolls. Listen to what he casually tossed off about Slipknot.
