Here’s the Deal with MySpace
Here’s what I’ve discovered today.
You’ve heard me drone on and on about how much I like MySpace for discovering new music. No sign-up, no account needed. There’s no one tracking all my movements and selling my browsing data to third parties. It’s simply the easiest way to sample new music. Just Google “MySpace” and the name of whatever band you’re looking for and voila: free access.
But welcome to RootMusic. This is a free service which takes whatever a band does online and aggregates it all within Facebook—for free. If you’re an artist and you’re looking to harness social networking—especially Facebook and its 500 million users—you should have a very close look at what you can do with RootMusic.
If I’m MySpace, I’m worried.
