Here’s the Deal with The Social Network

Here’s what I discovered over the weekend.

You may know that they’re making a Hollywood movie on the rise of Facebook which comes out this fall.  It’s called The Social Network (see the trailer here) and is being directed by David Fincher, who did Fight Club, Alien 3, Benjamin Button and a ton more.  Aaron Sorkin (The West Wing, Charlie Wilson’s War) wrote the script.  Music will be by Trent Reznor.  This should be interesting.  The Social Network will be in theatres October 1.

Here’s the Deal with Radiohead

As we wait for something new from Radiohead, drummer Phil Selway is getting ready with a solo album where he sings and plays guitar.  The record is called Familial and is due at the end of August.  If you’d like to hear what it sounds like, check out a song called “By Some Miracle”.

Here’s the Deal with U2

Until U2’s world tour gets re-started in Italy in August, the whole thing is haemorrhaging money.  The cancelled summer dates could cost the band up to $150 million in lost revenues.  Maybe this is why the Edge has put his yacht up for rent.  It’s called Cyan and sleeps ten and features a Jacuzzi, a swimming platform, marble bathrooms and one helluva sound system.  It’s worth $18.6 million and anyone can rent for $205,000 a week.  Enjoy.

Here’s the Deal with Sum 41

Finally, our Mike Sullivan was embedded in the Warped Tour for a bunch of dates in California and one of the bands he caught up with was Sum 41.  Here he is with Cone & Steve-O.
