One of the silliest sounds I could imagine hearing was that of a bunch of grown men, asian men, at the airport (don’t ask which one, that’s not important), greeting the one they call Lady Gaga, with a flurry of ‘Gaga, Gaga, Gaga’ noises. Sounded like a collection of 40 year old infants, clamouring for mommy.
Another day, another story about the modern day Madonna – she recently got the chance to sit down at the white grand piano once owned by John Lennon, now by Yoko, with permission from same. Seems there’s been some fall out among Beatles fans, fans that John and Yoko’s only son Sean calls ‘uptight’.
For more on this story, and a rather hot photo of the Gaga one at the piano, click HERE.
Cheers,
Jeff

I am a die-hard fan of John’s, but I have to agree with Sean on this one. For all her quirkiness and face value, she comes across as someone who actually has talents: sing/write/play piano. If all she did with the piano was play on it, then I think she was very lucky to have been granted the chance that many of us will never get.

Gaga makes me gag. I know she is big (right now) but why does Q107 even mention her? Why am I responding with a comment? OK, let’s change the subject. RUSH is playing tonight!!!!!!

it is, afterall, a piano … she has a lot to prove to become the next Madonna but I doubt it would take her as much time to rise to that level – or fall. For some reason this reminds me of a printed t-shirt i saw with a Lennon quote “Before Elvis there was nothing”. It’s profound and yet I’m sure many folks would believe that literally, maybe missing the humorous side of his personality. I’d be willing to bet that John would have asked this Ga Ga person to play his piano if he were alive today – it seems to fit his personality to challenge his uptight fans in this way.

Nice!

My initial reaction yesterday when you first posted this and I couldn’t read it was NOOOOOO! (Guess that makes me uptight, but then again, I’m no fan of Sean Lennon – I prefer Julian). Now that I’ve read it, my reaction to the first paragraph “ewww and creepy”. As for Gaga herself, not a big fan but her music is great for working out to. I’m with Jason, she still has a lot to prove before she is christened the next Madonna, although she has mastered the art of striking while the iron is hot with song after song and tour after tour. Maybe she’ll collapse from exhaustion! Gonna check out the picture and see if it compares to the one my spouse posted on our fridge. I’ll let you know. Cheers!

the picture that was gracing my fridge was better … sorry. I’ll see if I can find out where he found it.
