To mark what would have been John Lennon’s 70th birthday this October,  all kinds of things will be happening.

First of all, either a Legends special or perhaps for those that missed it, I should re-air the four part series I did on John back at the break of 2008 (we got good and deep on that one).

Meanwhile, John’s beloved YOKO, and the people at EMI will reissue eight of John Lennon’s solo records, plus a greatest hits collection and a four-disc anthology titled Gimme Some Truth. The reissues and compilations, each digitally remastered from the original mixes, will hit stores on October 5th (four days before Lennon’s 70th birthday) and will also be available for download through all major digital retailers.

Now, this is really cool, John’s solo classic ‘Gimme Some Truth’, in a much earlier version by John with the Beatles during the 1969 Get Back/ Let it Be Sessions.
