Hi Jeff,
Ya know I love BS just watched also the other day some old footage of BS throughout the years …I believe Age of rock….
cheers -
I kept expecting Nada Surf to surface on the NME’s list. Alas, no such luck. Shame.
NPR has a nice live Nada Surf download with a bonus interview at the end.
There is also a great live Ben Gibbard performance.
The Black Keys too.
In the mean time, you should be digging through the SLUMBERLAND RECORDS back catalog. There are some great forgotten gems.
Check out ROCKETSHIP.

1. Wall of Voodoo – Mexican Radio (a great behind the wheel song to crank up)
2. Gary Wright – Dream Weaver (same reason, love the drum riff)
3. Pink Floyd – Welcome to the Machine (for this one, a dark room and headphones)
4. The Who – Behind Blue Eyes (a desperate call to those that will listen)
5. Led Zeppelin – Whole Lotta Love (well… to trip out on of course!)
6. Genesis – In the Air Tonight (ok, back behind the wheel, this time in a convertible [preferably a Porche] travelling along a coastal highway)
7. Led Zeppelin – Going to California (ANYTIME, ANYWHERE!) -
back when grunge was still unpopular and hair bands were fading, there was a hickup in the trends… funk and other grooves slipped in there. My favorite was Living Color. Thier Time’s Up album still gets a regular turn in the car and players. It’s no wonder since I thought they were the Zeppelin of the time, unfortunately it didn’t work out as well for them.
Solace of You, This is the Life, Under cover of Darkness…wide ranged genres and all put together seamlessly….come back boys…come back…there’s easily seven timeless great tunes on this album, dare I say the whole f’n thing rocks !!!
just my opinion, take it or leave it…but I suggest you take it. hehehe

King Crimson “Cat Food” from In the Wake Of Poseidon King Crimson “The Devils Triangle”
King Crimson “Lark’s Tounges In Aspic pt. 1″
And any thing else by King Crimson. Crimson over Floyd any day. -
King Crimson “Cat Food”
Lady Supermarket with an apple in her basket
Knocks in the manager’s door;
Grooning to the muzak from a speaker in shoe rack
Lays out her goods on the floor;
Everything she’s chosen is conveniently frozen.
“Eat it and come back for more!”Lady Window Shopper with a new one in the hopper
Whips up a chemical brew;
Croaking to a neighbour while she polishes a sabre
Knows how to flavour a stew.
Never need to worry with a tin of ‘Hurri Curri’:
“Poisoned especially for you!”No use to complain
If you’re caught out in the rain;
Your mother’s quite insane.
Cat food cat food cat food again.Lady Yellow Stamper with a fillet in a hamper
Dying to finish the course;
Goodies for the table with a fable on the label
Drowning in miracle sauce.
Don’t think I am that rude if I tell you that it’s cat food,
“Not even fit for a horse!” -
King Crimson is a great band. My seven would be any 7 Crimson song ever made, even the 80′s Crimson. #1 “Cat Food”. King Crimson history would be sick for LOCR. King Crimson is my life.
