If you’re a Tool fan and you’ve spent some time reading the liner notes of their albums, you may have noticed the obvious references to Bill Hicks. Who is this guy?
Well, he was the only performer to ever get edited out of Late Night with David Letterman because his material was too crude. All the guys in Tool were big fans.
Sadly, Bill died of pancreatic cancer in 1993 before he could break it really big. But the Tool references have put some new life into Bill’s work. Because of Tool’s promotion of the guy, several of Bill’s comedy CDs went back into print and are still available. Here are some titles: Dangerous, Relentless, Rant in E Minor and Arizona Boy.
