One of the strangest records ever released was issued by multi-instrumentalist and electronic mad scientist, Nash the Slash.
In 1981, he made a record called Decomposing. This was probably the only record in the history of the universe that could never, ever be played on the wrong speed on a turntable. All the songs were written, arranged, performed and recorded in such a way that you could play any track on any speed on your turntable–and it would sound good. Take the song "Life in Loch Ness,” for example. Play it at 33 1/3 and the song runs 6:18. At 45, it takes up 4:40. And at 78, the track was over in 2:42.
Try doing that with a CD or MP3 player.
