Raised By Swans: “We Were Never Young”

1 year ago by Alan Cross |

They’re an indie group from London, Ontario. Douglas Copeland, the author, likes them a lot. He used one of their songs in a film he did… and three tracks ended up on the soundtrack of an Atom Egoyan film, “Chloe…” in fact, I remember wading through the credits at the end, trying to find out what band was responsible for that music. Raised By Swans have recently released a second album. It’s called “No Ghostless Place” and it opens with this song.

Sounds like early Verve DNA hacked by the Jesus and Mary Chain

  • You’re welcome! :) I’m glad you liked it & I was pretty sure you would. This is a band who definitely deserves airtime; everyone I know who’s heard them has fallen in love, especially with “no ghostless place.” I saw them live during CMW, too, and would recommend to anyone that they should catch a gig when they can, ‘cos they sound exactly the same live – the same ethereal and haunting beauty – as they do in the studio. Thanks for featuring them!
