Legendary trip-hop group Massive Attack; Robert Del Naja (3D) & Grant Marshall (Daddy G) releases Heligoland their first new album in nearly 7 years. Heligoland follows the October 2009 digital release of the Splitting The Atom’ EP which offered fans of Massive Attack a welcome glimpse into the bands’ current artistic direction. Heligoland features collaborations with Damon Albarn (Blur, Gorillaz), Hope Sandoval (Mazzy Star), Martina Topley-Bird, Guy Garvey (Elbow) and Tunde Adebimpe (TV On The Radio). Over the last three years Robert Del Naja has written and produced soundtracks for a number of films and documentaries, including Trouble In The Water, 44 Inch Chest, In Prison My Whole LifeGamorra, the latter for which he won the David Di Donatello Award for Best Song.

The members of Hollerado grew up on the same street, in the small Ontario town of Manotick (Population: 5,000). Hollerado’s “Do-It-Yourself” ethic and boundless imagination has cultivated them into one of Canada’s most exciting new exports. Hollerado recently caught the attention Jack White who chose the band to support The Dead Weather this past summer. The band also convinced Dave Foley of Kids In The Hall to be in their “Americanarama” video. These guys have cracked the magic formula of creating catchy songs that stick in your head, get people to sing along and have a good time. In classic Hollerado style, their debut full-length, Record In A Bag CD (complete with bonus goodies and handwritten notes) will be packagd in a Ziploc baggie.

Matthews and Reynolds met in Charlottesville, Virginia, while Matthews was a bartender. Matthews wanted to join Reynolds’ band TR3 but Reynolds, encouraging Matthews individual musical growth, persuaded him to form his own band.

Screamworks: Love In Theory And Practice is HIM’s seventh studio album and the follow-up to 2007′s Venus Doom, which was nominated for a Grammy® Award for "Best Boxed/Special Limited Edition Packaging." In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, various groups offered their musical tributes to the city, but few if any captured the diverse snapshot that is New Orleans. Most tended to view the place as something of a musical museum, while ignoring the town’s vibrant and innovative new music: the energetic, highly eroticized, and occasionally gender-bending style of hip hop called “bounce”. Now Galactic have made what may be the definitive New Orleans tribute with YA-KA-MAY, by recognizing this fundamental truth; that all of the town’s seemingly disparate styles – jazz, brass bands and funk as well as the newer bounce/hip hop – are intrinsically linked. The album features established legends such as the Rebirth Brass Band, Irma Thomas, Big Chief Bo Dollis, Allen Toussaint and Walter “Wolfman” Washington with younger artists like Trombone Shorty and Corey Henry, John Boutté, Josh Cohen and Scully, and Glen David Andrews.The end result is New Orleans like it’s truly meant to be heard, and Galactic’s most hooky, catchy album to date.
