Music Fans: Be Very Afraid (Part 2)

2 years ago by Alan Cross |

Don’t just take my word on what’s happening with the ACTA negotiations.  Corey Doctorow has been following things on his Boing Boing blog for quite some time.  Canadian copyright law watcher Michael Geist has also pulled together many of the clues left behind by these secret negotiations.

Then read about how the ACTA treaty is working to avoid activists, poor countries and even the UN

Next, it’s the whole issue of how this secret copyright treaty could mean jail for sharing non commercial music.

The good news is that some U.S. senators are a little pissed over all this secrecy and want to see a little transparency.

If you’re still not alarmed, read what the following sites have to say about ACTA:

ZeroPaid:  Demands for transparency called “a distraction.”

TechDirt:  Who will benefit from ACTA.
